First To Score
By Hoya HoopsFor the game this past Tuesday, we asked our readers to guess the number of turnovers Georgetown would have. The Hoyas committed 12 turnovers against South Florida, so both Hoya Gray and Emily were the closest, with guesses of 11 and 13, respectively. Fortunately for Emily, this is not the Price is Right.
In that game, DaJuan Summers started off the game scoring the Hoyas’ first 11 points. For Georgetown’s upcoming game against Louisville, we thought of this question:
Who will score the first basket for the Hoyas, and how will it be scored?
Our guess is Roy Hibbert will hit a short hook shot over David Padgett. What’s your guess?

I’ll say a Summers 3. That’s how we started most of our games last year wasn’t it? At least he always took that shot first.

I will go with Austin Freeman cutting to the basket for a lay-up.

I’ll go with a Jon Wallace 3 to break him out of his current shooting slump.

Boubacar Aw…he ALWAYS scores the first hoop.

Hibbert will score the first points (free throws), Sapp will make the first Field Goal, 3PTR

I feel that all the Hoya faithful are seeing this as a repeat performance for Hibbert. He had his way last trip to Freedom Hall. This Cardinal team in deeper an much more physical that last years team. They are liking the physical play in the Big East. They have lots of fouls to give. they put marquette in the double bonus with over 10 min left in the second half. If you don’t shoot well from the line it will be the difference. For those that are making the trip… enjoy! This is one of last opportunities to visit. Freedom hall. GO CARDS!

One more thing, I believe the bench scoring will also have the biggest impact in the outcome of this game. Your first 5 will get theirs, as will ours. How about your next 3 or 4?

Hibbert on an up and under layup.

Sapp misses a three; Roy takes the rebound and dunks on padgett; padgett never recovers emotionally; hoyas by 15.

Hibby dunk to start. I think that makes me the winner here.
