Georgetown Season Begins

The Georgetown Hoyas return to the floor for the first game of the season. The team hosts the Jacksonville Dolphins at Verizon Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
While the Hoyas are having their first game today, most of the college basketball world got underway this past week. None of the teams in the Top 25 lost, as the teams were a combined 27-0. Georgetown and Louisville were the only teams in the rankings not to play in the first week. Third-ranked Louisville play their season opener on Saturday.
Allen Iverson is fitting right in with his new team. After losing efforts in his first two starts, Iverson and the Detroit Pistons had a successful tour through the Western Conference, finishing 3-1, which included handing the Los Angeles Lakers their first loss of the season. Iverson averaged 21.8 points and 7.3 assists on the road trip.
