Cincinnati Recap
By Hoya HoopsThe Georgetown Hoyas lost their fourth straight game, falling on the road to Cincinnati 65-57. It was a similar formula for defeat for the Hoyas who again faded down the stretch. The Bearcats closed the game on an 11-2 run to improve to .500 in conference play and dealt another blow to the Hoyas, who have now dropped six of their last eight games.
Georgetown trailed by one at the half and had to play the entire second half without leading scorer DaJuan Summers who suffered a twisted ankle in the first half. Chris Wright and Austin Freeman carried the scoring in the 2nd half, combining for 29 points. But the Georgetown defense couldn’t stop the Bearcats who made big shots down the stretch.
The loss is the third straight conference defeat, putting them at 3-5 in the Big East. The Hoyas finish their three-game road trip at undefeated Marquette on Saturday, January 31st, at 2:00 PM.
