Two in Three
By Hoya HoopsThe Hoyas got back to their winning ways, pounding the South Florida Bulls 65-40. The team shot the ball well from everywhere on the court, including from the free throw line, making 9-12 for 75%. Bobby in Tennessee was the closest to the percentage with his guess of 73%. However, since Luca was only one missed free throw off – he guessed 9-11 – we are going to declare a tie and give each of them the win. The t-shirt race heats up! Congrats to both Bobby and Luca.
The Hoyas now have a crucial home stand against two of the the top teams in the conference. If the Hoyas fare well, they can send a message to the selection committee. If they lose both, Georgetown will have to brace itself for an NIT berth at best. Here is our question:
What will the Hoyas record be in the two games and how many total points with Georgetown score?
It’s very tough to play Saturday-Monday games, so we think the Hoyas will split, going 1-1. We also anticipate a high-scoring Marquette game and a lower-scoring Louisville match-up, so we will say 140 total points. Let us know your guesses in the comments.

2-0 88 vs. MARQ, 67 vs. LOU, 155 Total Points

I will also go 2-0 over these 2 games. This is probably a little hopeful, but I am also banking on my record at the Verizon Center. I flew up to catch the Louisville game last year…and we won in OT. I also came in town for the Memphis game in Dec…and we won in OT. I flew in today and will be attending both of these games…so I’m expecting some buzzer beaters. I will say 150 points total (with at least 1 game in OT..gotta keep the record going). About 80 points vs Marquette and 70 points vs Louisville).

I would love to see the Hoyas go 2-0 but I am not sure that they can…I’ll have to go with 1-1. Marquette = win 82-77, Louisville 75-74 loss (we will be up in this one and falter at the end) Total points 156 I believe that we will finish 4-1…Enter the Big East Tournament and win 2, maybe three and enter the NCAA tournament. No one will expect us to be there, everyone will count us out, nobody will pick us to go far, but . . . WE ARE GEORGETOWN and with Sapp coming off the bench, similar to Ewing Jr. last year the team is starting to play much better. Let’s Go Hoyas! Bobby if they win both of these games I think that the Hoya Hoops team should send you/bring you to the Big East Tournament. If G-town wins it . . .we should all chip in for you to go to the NCAA Tournament and watch them!

its a tough call….i think we can def beat marquette at home if we play as well as we did up there. on the other hand, i think against louisville we will have to be at the top of our game. But, louisville plays on the road today, then ahs to travel to us, so we might catch them a little slow at the start. i’ll say 2-0, and since our defense is not what it once was, i say we need 165 pts to pull out both wins. HOYA SAXA!
