A Fan Letter to Jessie Sapp

As a youngster, I wrote a fan letter to Reggie Williams during his senior season. I told him I was a big fan of his, and he was my favorite player, and I went to all the games. Then I asked him to please write me back. I don’t know if he ever got it, but he didn’t write me back. Anyway, I hope if he did ever read the letter that maybe it brightened up his day. I wonder if this season, anybody has written a letter to Jessie Sapp. It’s his final home game tomorrow, and I envisioned a fan letter to look something like this.

Dear Jessie,

Hello, how are you? I am fine. But I am also a little sad because the Hoyas have not been doing so well. I bet that you are sad too. I wanted to tell you that your my favorite player in the NCAA. I wear #21 on my school team so I can be like you. I remember all of the great things you did on the Hoyas, like winning the Big East tournament and going to the Final Four. I was so happy last year when you made the three-pointer at the end of the West Virginia game, and I was at the Syracuse game last year that the Hoyas won in overtime. I remember you scored five points at the end of that game to tie the score.

This year sure has been different from the other years that you played for the Hoyas, but I hope you aren’t too sad. My coach always says that you never really know what’s going to happen in a game until you play. Even though it looks like the team won’t make the NCAA tournament, you still might- if you play a little better. I still think that you can win the next game against DePaul. I hope you score a lot of points, maybe 20! You are my favorite player, and if you play your best for the next few games, I think you can help the Hoyas win. Don’t be sad about the bad games, just be ready for the next games. I hope you win.

Dear Biggest Fan,
I happen to know Reggie Williams, had he gotten your letter he would have wrote you back. Reggie William is the best person you would want to meet. In fact, Reggie Williams is Coach Reggie Williams to me, and he’s the best person, and coach one could have. He’s hard, but a fair man and he only wants one to do their best, in basketball or what ever they are doing. I hope Jessie gets your letter, if not don’t hold it againt him, jeeis is a good person as well as a basketball player. Coach Reggie and Jessie would want the best for you, so from them both, thanks for being their biggest fan, and God bless you!
