After announcing some of the year-end awards on Monday, the Big East named the big winners yesterday. Hasheem Thabeet and DeJuan Blair shared the Player of the Year award and Villanova’s Jay Wright won Coach of the Year.

Georgetown’s Greg Monroe, having already been named to the Big East All-Rookie Team was named the Big East Rookie of the Year. The last Hoya to receive that honor was Jeff Green in 2005.
