| Needs to Improve Upon Most for Next Year |
Three-point shooting consistency. We can all agree that he is a good three-point shooter, but he needs to avoid the extended slumps from downtown. |

Georgetown has just announced that sophomore guard Omar Wattad will be transferring. Omar played 25 games this season and started in place of Jessie Sapp at the home game against FIU.
Also, the Hoya is reporting that Greg Monroe will indeed stay on the Hilltop for his sophomore season and forego the NBA Draft.

- Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun says he will return to the sidelines next year for the Huskies. There had been speculation that he would retire because he had reached his 800th win, he has had recent health problems, and the core of this past year’s Final Four team is departing. Also, the NCAA is beginning an investigation into the Huskies’ recruiting to see if any violations were committed. Calhoun is 66 years old and has coached for 23 years at UCONN.
- Syracuse guard Johnny Flynn is expected to sign with an agent, which will preclude his return to college for his junior season. Flynn led the Orange in scoring with 17 points a game, was a member of this season’s All-Big East second team, and was only the fourth player in conference history to win Big East Tournament MVP without winning the championship.

Not much news going on in Hoyaland right now, so this is what we’ve got for you.
- Dikembe Mutombo logged the most minutes of the season on Friday when he played 35 minutes at Golden State. The Rockets won 113-109 and Deke had 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks.
- In Germany, Jonathan Wallace and Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje’s EWE Baskets Oldenburg beat Giants Düsseldorf 98-96 and Brandon Bowman’s Telekom Baskets Bonn beat Giants Nördlingen 67-65. Our German’s not too good, but it doesn’t look like any of the Hoyas hit a last second shot.

The 2009 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament began yesterday and will run until this Saturday. No Hoyas will be playing in the PIT this year, unlike last year when I headed down to see Patrick Ewing, Jr. and Jonathan Wallace try to impress the NBA and international scouts.
They have the full list of players involved on the PIT website for you to check out. There are a bunch of familiar names on that list including Notre Dame’s Kyle McAlarney and Providence’s Weyinmi Efejuku.
If you live in that area, or just feel like taking a day trip, it might be fun to watch the final games of 2009 College Basketball.
