Double Figures
By Hoya HoopsBefore the Temple game, we asked everyone how well the Hoyas would shoot from the stripe. The answer? Better, but not by much. The Hoyas shot 13-19 from the line, good for 68.4%. That means that Bob from Columbia wins with his guess of 70%. If this were The Price Is Right, we’d all be losers, but it’s not so only most of us are losers.
Up next for the Hoyas is Savannah State, an independent school that doesn’t pose much of a threat. Last season, Georgetown beat the Tigers 100-38 and at one point in the 1st half, led by 45 points. Since the Hoyas finished with five players scoring in double digits, we thought that would be a good question for this year’s matchup.
How many players will score 10 or more points for the Hoyas, and how many will the leading scorer have?
We’re gonna say that six players will get in double digits, led by Wright with 15.
What do you think?

4 players in double figures with Freeman the high at 24. Much as I would like to say 6 or 7 players in double figures (scoring), I haven’t seen anything yet to support anyone other than Wright, Monroe, Clark and Freeman getting into double figures, even against a weak team. Since this years group seems to be following in the footsteps of lasts years with shooting and defensive inconsistency – I’m going with Freeman to have one of his highlight games (Wright and Monroe already had their turn). I would sure like the rest of the crew to step up … maybe there is some hidden treasure in the Frosh or maybe Sims can settle down if Thompson would give him enough minutes. Let’s go Hoyas!! Please come through with a runaway win this time … Temple was enough of an early season nail-biter. I’ve got to say I’m going to the Duke game in Jan, but watching Duke manhandle their opponent in the ESPN game after GU-Temple, did not leave me with a good feeling at all.

Nobody said 8 yet, I’ll go with that!
Monroe, Freeman, Wright, Clark, Vaughn, Simms, Thompson…do we have 8 players. I’ll stick with 8 and include Jeremiah Rivers, just in case.
