Savannah State In-Game Thread
By JohnnyHey everyone, after a 10 hour drive and a night at the Hilton Garden Inn, I’m finally here courtside at Tiger Arena, sitting next to Rich and Evan Chvotkin.
The team is just walking in with their suitcases, headed towards the locker room, so I think I’ll take this time to get settled myself. I’ll be checking in from now until the final buzzer, so keep it here at the HoyaHoops In-Game Thread.

The Hoyas have come out for their first round of pregame warmups. Freshman Jerrelle Benimon will not be playing today as he is still in a suit with a boot on his left ankle.

We’re about half an hour from opening tip, and both teams are in the locker room. Tiger Arena is slowly filling up, but tickets for this game are twice as much as they are for the rest of the season, and that may be affecting the turnout.
Behind me there are a bunch of rows of seats reserved for Hoya fans thanks to Steve Alleva, and those are filling up nicely.

Some SSU students just ran around the court with their bodies painted and assorted head gear.
That was definitely odd, and now the Hoyas have taken the floor.

They just sang the National Anthem – oddly enough, the Hoyas were lined up on one side of the court, and on the other? Savannah State cheerleaders. The Tigers are nowhere to be seen.
