Playing the Percentages

In our last Pregame Predictions, we asked you to tell us the rebounding margin for the Hoyas’ 73-46 victory over American. Georgetown won the battle of the boards, 43-32, which means Bobby in Tennessee was exactly right with his guess of +11 for the Hoyas. Nicely done!

The Hoyas now face their first ranked opponent of the season, taking on the Butler Bulldogs at Madison Square Garden. The Hoyas are coming off its best defensive performance of the season, holding American to 27% from the field, but Butler shot 53% in their last outing. We wonder which trend will prevail.

What field goal percentage will Butler shoot?

We think Butler will shoot better than the Eagles, but that the Hoyas will be able to hold the Bulldogs to 39%.

   I’m gonna say 37%. Hopefully less if my yells from the 3rd row distract them… Let’s go Hoyas!

   Well 39% and 40% were taken, so I’m going with 39.5%. Butler is shooting 44% and Gtown is holding opponents to 35% shooting…so I’m going for something in between. But I’m counting on DBeck’s yelling from the 3rd row to help keep Butlers FG% down.
