Hoyas #11, Wright Honored

The new rankings were released yesterday, and Georgetown came in at #11 according to both polls. There are eight Big East teams ranked in the AP Top 25 and seven teams in the Big East/USA Today Coaches’ Poll.
After his 43 point performance against the Hoyas on Saturday, Marshon Brooks was named the Big East Player of the Week. Chris Wright made the Weekly Honor Roll for his performances against Providence and Louisville. Connecticut’s Jeremy Lamb was named the Big East Rookie of the Week.
In Big Monday action, Pittsburgh beat West Virginia 71-66 in Morgantown. With the win, Pitt moves to 10-1 in the conference and distances themselves from the rest of the pack.
