Hoyas Enter Top 10, Wright Honored Again
By Hoya Hoops- The new rankings came out yesterday, and after a week with two more wins, the Hoyas moved back into the Top 10 for the third time this season. In both polls, the Hoyas are at #9 with six other Big East teams joining them among those ranked. Their next opponent Connecticut is ranked #13 and #12 in the AP Top 25 and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll, respectively.
- For the second straight week, Chris Wright was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll for his performances over the week. Dwight Hardy of St. John’s took home the Big East Player of the Week award, and Cincinnati’s Sean Kilpatrick took home Rookie of the Week honor.
- Last night in Big Monday action, Syracuse won their first home game in four contests, beating West Virginia 63-52. The game moved the Orange into 8th place and the Mountaineers 9th place in the conference as the bottom two teams above .500.
