The Sin Stripe

By Hoya Hoops

The Hoyas remained undefeated against DePaul since the Blue Demons joined the conference in 2005, although Georgetown’s 83-75 win on Tuesday was perhaps the closest game during that streak. In the end it was an outstanding performance from senior leader and birthday boy Jason Clark that helped spur the team on to victory. There were in fact two Hoyas who celebrated their birthdays on the Monday before the game, and we asked you how many points Clark and John Caprio would combine to score. While Caprio did not enter the game, Clark put up a career-best 31 points to lead all scorers. Not surprisingly, everyone was under with their guesses, but since Zo was the closest with his guess of 26 points, he wins. Congratulations.

Georgetown plays host to Rutgers tomorrow. The Hoyas are coming off one of their worst free throw shooting nights of the year, hitting just over 57% of their shots from the charity line. In fact, since entering Big East play, the Hoyas are only 65% from the stripe. With many close games anticipated throughout the rest of the season and entering March, every point is critical.

What will Georgetown’s free throw percentage be?

We have a feeling that Coach Thompson stressed free throw shooting this week, so we will guess a much-improved 80% from the line. Let us know what you think in the comments.
