Rutgers In-Game Thread
By JohnnyHey everybody. Johnny sitting here courtside at Verizon Center as the Hoyas are wrapping up a set of warmups before today’s game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Markel Starks, who sat out against DePaul due to illness was warming up with the team, and his name is on the scoreboard as a starter. That’s been known to change at gametime though, so we’ll have to see if he’s ready to play.
The Hoyas are coming home after a two-game road trip where they earned two victories at St. John’s and DePaul. Everyone’s calling Georgetown the surprise team in the Big East after their impressive start to the season, but this Rutgers team should be turning a few heads as well. With wins over Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Connecticut, they’re sitting at 3-3 in the conference and are no joke. The Hoyas will have a real test today against a team having their best conference start since 2004.
I’ll be checking back in throughout the game with more news and updates. But for now here’s what I have:
- The listed starters for the Hoyas are Starks, Clark, Thompson, Lubick, and Sims.
- Rutgers are set to start Seagears, Mack, Carter, Miller, and Biruta.
- The refs for today are going to be Bob Donato, Joe Lindsay, and John Gaffney.
