Radio Info and Google Calendar Updates

By Johnny

Yesterday, Georgetown announced the radio broadcast schedule for the rest of the season. Basically, every game will be on ESPN 980, except for this upcoming game against Lafayette, and the DePaul game in January which will both be aired on AM 570.

We’ve already updated our Google Calendar with that information, and if you’ve subscribed to the calendar using Google, iCal, or Outlook 2007, your calendars should already be updated.

Calendar HelpIf you haven’t subscribed or downloaded the calendar yet, we’ve made it easy by creating a help page with detailed instructions for the major programs you might use to access an online calendar.

And if you just need some quick info and don’t feel like managing the whole calendar interface, you can also check out the schedule in an easy-to-read table over at our updated schedule page.

Sapp is a Rock

By Johnny

Recent Georgetown graduate Jessie Sapp has just signed with the Glasgow Rocks of the British Basketball League. Rocks’ player-coach Sterling Davis has some nice things to say about Jessie on the team website where they have just announced Sapp’s signing.

Jessie follows in the footsteps of fellow Hoyas Jonathan Wallace, Brandon Bowman, Kevin Braswell and others to continue playing basketball professionally in Europe. Hopefully he can bring home a championship like Brandon did in Germany.

The Hoya’s Online Round Table

By Hoya Hoops

Bailey Heaps from the Hoya has decided to set up an online round table tonight talking about Georgetown basketball. He’s been rounding up the local media to have as many as he can participate in this live discussion that will be posted on TheHoya.com. Everyone is free to come and post questions and maybe even participate in the discussion. From what we understand, Bailey, Barker Davis of the Washington Times, Liz Clarke of the Washington Post, Al Bozzo, President of the Hoya Hoop Club, and others will be there, along with our resident in-game blogger Johnny.

The discussion starts at 8:00pm tonight, and you can find it right here: [TheHoya.com]

Email Outage

By Hoya Hoops

Hey everybody,

We’ve been having some trouble with our email system at Hoya Hoops, so if you’ve sent any emails to us in the past few days, we probably haven’t gotten it. If for some reason anyone has something important to say, please leave it in the comments, and we’ll be getting back to you as soon as we can.

Sorry!

Happy Birthday Us

By Hoya Hoops

So HoyaHoops.com is a year and a day old. (Yup, on our official first birthday, we had some trouble with the site and it was down for most of the day). Happy Birthday us!

We’re going to continue to do our best to provide you with all you need to know about Georgetown basketball, and now that the season is just a little over a month away, it’s time for us to kick it up a notch. We’re going to be providing you with daily updates from now until the end of the season with new content and new goodies to sate your Hoya appetite.

Feel free to post any suggestions you have to improve the site in the comments. We may be a year old (which is something like 20 in blog years) but we’re still just getting the hang of this and could use all the help we can get.

2007-08 Year in Review

By Hoya Hoops

Over the next few weeks, we at Hoya Hoops are going to be looking back over the past season, highlighting each player’s season statistics and their best and worst moments. While the points per game and free throw percentages will be objective, the season highlights will be some of our favorites, so be sure to post what you think in the comments. Stay tuned.
