These two sides are fighting for position in the big East standings, and thanks to a big Saturday with Georgetown beating Villanova and Notre Dame losing to St. John’s, the Hoyas can leapfrog the Irish and move into 3rd place in the standings with a win tonight.

Notre Dame has struggling on the road this season, but tonight is a huge game for them, and as always, they have a fair share of fans in the Verizon Center. Hopefully, the Hoyas can keep the Irish fans quiet with a strong start to this one.

As always, I’ll be checking in throughout the game with news and updates, but for now, here’s all the info I’ve got:

• According to the big screen, the Hoya starters are Clark, Thompson, Porter, Lubick, and Sims. So no Starks again.
• The Irish look to start Atkins, Martin, Grant, Connaughton, and Cooley.
• The refs for tonight’s game are going to be Anthony Greene, John Gaffney, and Ed Corbett.

The entire lower bowl is covered with Gray Out! t-shirts, and the students who are already here are dressed accordingly. With Georgetown in a close battle near the top of the Big East standings and games against Notre Dame and Marquette to close out the season, the Hoyas need to finish out strong, and a win today against a struggling Villanova team is critical.

I’ll be updating you throughout the game with stats and comments from the Verizon Center, but until the Senior Day festivities get started, here’s the information I have for you:

• The Hoyas look to have a change in the starting lineups today – Clark, Thompson, Lubick, Sims, and Otto Porter replacing Markel Starks.
• The Wildcats are prepared to send out Johnson, Yarou, Pinkston Wayns, Cheek, and Sutton.
• The refs for this afternoon’s game are Gary Prager, Ed Hightower, and Pat Driscoll.

Both teams have headed back to the locker rooms for one more talk with the coaches before the anthem, and while they’re getting ready, here’s the info I have for you so far.

• The Hoyas look set to start the same five – Starks, Clark, Thompson, Lubick, and Sims.
• The Red Storm are set to start Greene, Harkless, Harrison, Pointer, and Garrett.
• The referees for this afternoon’s game are Karl Hess, John Cahill, and Mike Eades.

Both teams are in the middle of a rough stretch as UCONN has dropped their last three straight and while the Hoyas have done a little better, they still picked up three losses in January, most recently with the defeat at Pittsburgh.

It’s going to be a big game tonight with both teams fighting for positioning in the tough Big East. We’ll have to see which Georgetown team shows up today, and how well they can contain Jeremy Lamb.

• The Huskies will start Lamb, Giffey, Boatright, Drummond, and Smith.

The Hoyas are coming home after a two-game road trip where they earned two victories at St. John’s and DePaul. Everyone’s calling Georgetown the surprise team in the Big East after their impressive start to the season, but this Rutgers team should be turning a few heads as well. With wins over Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Connecticut, they’re sitting at 3-3 in the conference and are no joke. The Hoyas will have a real test today against a team having their best conference start since 2004.

• Rutgers are set to start Seagears, Mack, Carter, Miller, and Biruta.
• The refs for today are going to be Bob Donato, Joe Lindsay, and John Gaffney.

Both sides are coming off of two consecutive losses, with Georgetown falling to West Virginia on the road and Cincinnati at home, and St. John’s losing at Cincinnati and Marquette. Both teams are looking to end that streak with a victory this afternoon, so expect a highly contested Big East matchup.

The teams are shooting around right now with the Hoyas in their blue hoodie warmups, and the Red Storm in their standard red and white.

I don’t have starting lineups or referee info. I recognize John Cahill and Mike Stephens, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen that third ref before.

It’s the Hoyas first trip to the new KFC Yum! Center. The last time Georgetown traveled to Louisville it was the penultimate game for the Cardinals in Freedom Hall. The Hoyas were victorious in their last game at Freedom Hall, and their first game at the Yum! Center is just minutes away. The team just headed back to their new locker room after a set of warmups in their road navy blue unis, and the anthem is set to start in 25 minutes.
