Georgetown dropped its first game in over a month, losing to Connecticut 78-70. Kemba Walker had 31 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds for the Huskies, and teammate Jamal Coombs-McDaniels added 23 points of his own. Chris Wright had 19 points and five assists for the Hoyas in the losing effort, while Austin Freeman seemed to be hampered by his ankle, missing all four of his three point attempts but still managing 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. The Hoyas now drop to 9-5 in Big East play.

Georgetown stretched their winning streak to eight games with a 69-60 victory over Marquette in front of over 14,000 fans at the Verizon Center Sunday afternoon. On a day when the Hoyas trailed for most of the game, Georgetown fought their way to victory through hustle plays and tight defense.

The Georgetown Hoyas extended their winning streak to seven games, defeating Syracuse 64-56. The Hoyas closed out the game a 12-1 run to earn the victory, the first win for Coach John Thompson III at the Carrier Dome. Austin Freeman scored 14 points to lead the Hoyas, with Julian Vaughn and Jason Clark each adding 12. Kris Joseph had 14 points in the losing effort, with freshman CJ Fair adding 12 points off the bench for the Orange.

Saturday at Verizon Center, Providence’s leading scorer Marshon Brooks poured in a career-high 43 points against the Georgetown Hoyas. If he had scored 46 the Friars would have won. As it was, the Hoyas managed to outlast Providence, barely, ending up with an 83-81 victory. Brooks’ amazing performance was the fifth best scoring output in the history of the Big East Conference, and the highest point total that Georgetown has ever allowed against a conference opponent. Brooks scored 24 points In the first half, but the Hoyas were comfortably in front. The Hoyas opened the game with three straight three-pointers and led by 12 at the intermission.

Georgetown extended their winning streak to five games with their second three-point victory in three days, beating Louisville 62-59. Chris Wright led all scorers with 24 points, including a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line, while Terrence Jennings had 18 points for the Cardinals in the losing effort. The win improves Georgetown to 6-4 in Big East play, while Louisville was handed their third conference loss of the year.

Georgetown pulled off an impressive 69-66 road victory against the #8 Villanova Wildcats at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia thanks to a 30-point effort from senior Austin Freeman. The win was the Hoyas’ fourth straight, and it moved the team to 5-4 in the Big East conference.

The Georgetown Hoyas won their third straight conference game, convincingly defeating St. John’s 77-52 and ending a two game home losing streak. The 7,160 fans who braved the snow to make their way to Verizon Center were treated to a dominating performance by their Hoyas, who avenged their loss to the Red Storm three weeks ago.

The Hoyas escaped from the Prudential Center with a 80-75 win over the Seton Hall Pirates, narrowly avoiding a catastrophic loss. It was a quizzical performance, as Georgetown looked dominating at times, completely ineffective at others, but in the end the Hoyas did just enough to get the win and improve to 3-4 in Big East play.
Georgetown took an early lead and held it for most of the first half, taking a seven point lead into halftime, 38-31. A three pointer by Hollis Thompson put Georgetown up by 10 a minute into the second half, and one got the sense that the Hoyas were ready to pull away.

The Georgetown Hoyas earned their first road conference win of the season and broke a three-game losing streak in the process, defeating Rutgers 74-65. The Hoyas rediscovered their stroke from beyond the arc, going 50% on three pointers in the victory. Georgetown led from start to finish to improve to 2-4 in conference play, while the Scarlet Knights fell to 1-4 in Big East games.
Georgetown opened the game with an 8-0 run, but Rutgers quickly responded to keep the game close. The Hoyas led by six at halftime, 31-25.
