The Georgetown Hoyas lost their first conference game of the season and their first at home in thirty games, falling to the Pittsburgh Panthers 70-54.
The game was close for about thirty minutes, but Pitt used a 15-3 run midway through the second half to pull away. The Hoyas were outscored 37-24 after the break.
It was a familiar problem that hurt the Hoyas as the Panthers grabbed 20 offensive rebounds and scored 24 second chance points. Sam Young scored 14 points and had eight rebounds and DeJuan Blair finished with 20 & 17. DaJuan Summers led all scorers with 22, but the Hoyas as a team only shot 35.3% from the field and had 17 fewer attempts than their opponents.
The Hoyas face a quick turnaround, traveling to South Bend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7:00 PM on Monday night.
