The Georgetown Hoyas dropped their second straight game, losing to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 73-67 to fall to 1-2 in conference play. The Hoyas suffered their first back-to-back losses since January 2007, when they were defeated by Villanova and Pittsburgh.

The Hoyas started slow and tried a variety of lineups, but were unable to stop Big East leading scorer Luke Harangody. He had 19 points in the first half and ended with 31 points and 11 rebounds. The Hoyas trailed by 11 at halftime.

The Hoyas tried to rally and cut the lead to four late, but were not able to pull it out. Poor foul shooting hurt the Hoyas, as they were only 13-22, 59%, and were cold from beyond the arc, shooting 22%. Greg Monroe recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Chris Wright had 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists, but was only 1-6 from three-point range.

The Hoyas look to bounce back at home this Saturday, where they host the Providence Friars, who are 2-0 in the conference. That game starts at 1:00 PM.
