In a rare 11:00 am tip-off, the Georgetown Hoyas defeated the USF Bulls 75-45. The early start time may have affected the players’ sharpness, as both teams shot poorly to start the game. Georgetown was only 8-23 from the field (34.8%) in the first half. However, the Hoyas looked hot compared to the awful start from the Bulls. They went through a stretch of nearly 11 minutes in the first half without a point and shot only 6-23 in the opening twenty minutes (26.1%). USF also committed 11 turnovers in the first half. Georgetown led 23-15 at halftime.

The Hoyas turned things around very quickly in the second half. The Hoyas scored the first six points of the half, and kept the game out of reach, eventually extending to a 30-point lead. The scoring was very balanced for Georgetown, with five players in double figures, led by Henry Sims who scored 13.

Georgetown has now won two in a row, and five out of their last six. The winning streak will be put to the test on Wednesday night when they travel to the Carrier Dome to take on the top team in the Big East, the Syracuse Orange. The game is set to begin at 7:00 and will be broadcast on ESPN.
