Georgetown dropped its first game in over a month, losing to Connecticut 78-70. Kemba Walker had 31 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds for the Huskies, and teammate Jamal Coombs-McDaniels added 23 points of his own. Chris Wright had 19 points and five assists for the Hoyas in the losing effort, while Austin Freeman seemed to be hampered by his ankle, missing all four of his three point attempts but still managing 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. The Hoyas now drop to 9-5 in Big East play.

The Hoyas started the game hot, taking an early 10 point lead using backdoor cuts to get easy looks. The Huskies would tighten up their defense to close the deficit, using a late 14-4 run to briefly take the lead before a Chris Wright three pointer and steal ensured the Hoyas would enter the locker room up one, 37-36.

In the second half, Kemba Walker began to take control. He broke down the Georgetown defense to either get to the basket or find open teammates. The Huskies built up a nine point second half lead. The Hoyas refused to quit, rallying back to take a 70-69 lead with four minutes to play. However, the Hoyas would not score the rest of the game, and the team dropped their first game since losing at home to Pittburgh on January 12th.

Georgetown looks to start a new winning streak this weekend on the road in Tampa. The Hoyas will tip off against the South Florida Bulls at 7 PM on Saturday.
