The Georgetown Hoyas lost their third home game of the season, losing to Cincinnati 46-58. The loss drops the Hoyas to 10-6 in conference play, putting them in serious jeopardy of falling out of the top four in the Big East.

The Hoyas fell behind by 11 in the first half, but used an 18-5 run to take a 26-24 lead with under a minute to play in the half. A putback by Yancy Gates tied the game at 26 going into the break.

The Bearcats opened the second half on a 17-3 run that spanned over nine minutes. The Hoyas did not make their first field goal of the second half until 10 and a half minutes had elapsed in the half. Georgetown cut the lead to eight late, but could not recover from the poor start to half, and lost for the second time in three games.

Austin Freeman had 19 points for Georgetown in the loss, while Dion Dixon and Gates led the Bearcats with 17 points each.

The Hoyas look to rebound this Saturday against archrival Syracuse. A cloud has been cast on the matchup on Senior Day as Chris Wright left the game with a broken left-hand and his status for the game is unknown. Tipoff against the Orange is at 12 PM.
