Game 6 Tonight

By Tony

Things are not as bad as they seem for the Hoyas. This will not be a feel good piece about the future of the Hoyas, or an unrealistic assessment of the underachieving team. In all seriousness, things could be worse. Here’s what the Hoyas face right now. They need to do some convincing – specifically they need to convince the selection committee that they deserve an at-large bid. The only way to really make a strong case for that bid is to win out. Period. That will not be easy, but it is a workable task, and it is a pretty reasonable undertaking if you put it in the right context. It’s an analogy that all hoops fans can understand.

Mike’s Villanova Postgame Thoughts

Teams

Georgetown:
When Georgetown and Villanova play each other, you can expect an ugly, hard-fought game, and this one was no exception. The Hoyas committed a whopping 25 turnovers but somehow still managed to pull out a victory. That can be attributed to toughness. A criticism of these Hoyas has been their lack of fight. Against the Wildcats, the Hoyas gave it there all for 40 minutes, keeping up the defensive pressure and fighting for every loose ball. They now have a win over a bitter rival to show for it.

Villanova Postgame Press Conference

By Johnny

Here’s the audio I picked up after the Villanova game. Unfortunately, some of the questions/answers had some crazy feedback, so I left those out. The rest is embedded below.

And just pretend that says 2009 instead of 2008.
