| Team | 1 | 2 | T |
| Georgetown (#20) | 32 | 42 | 74 |
| Tulane | 27 | 31 | 58 |
Hey everybody, Johnny here as we’re about half an hour away from the start of the 2009-10 season.
As we’ll be doing all season long, we at HoyaHoops.com are going to be providing you with in-game commentary and updates as well as a forum to talk about the game at hand.
Tonight’s game is taking place in Tulane, just minutes away from Greg Monroe’s childhood home. The team met Greg’s mom for dinner last night, and hopefully that provided them with enough motivation for their first game of the season.
I’ll be checking back in with more info in the comments section below. Feel free to join in on the conversation.

The game is still a few minutes away, but I have the starting lineups for you:
For the Hoyas, it will be:

For the Green Wave, it’s gonna be Kris Richard, Kevin Sims, Aaron Holmes, David Booker, and Asim McQueen.
November 13th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
The game’s tipoff was pushed back because the first game of the Tulane double-header (the Tulane women vs. Louisiana-Monroe) ended late.

Still 8-0 for the Hoyas at the 16 minute timeout.
November 13th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
@Let’s Go Hoyas!
Like Tony was saying Freeman missed his last 10 threes last season, and he starts this season 1-1. Not bad.
November 13th, 2009 at 9:36 pm

November 13th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
17-7 Hoyas, timeout Tulane
November 13th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
That’s one thing we have to stay away from this year…foul trouble.
November 13th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
Hoyas get two quick hoops after Tulane cut the lead to six, and Tulane takes a 30.
November 13th, 2009 at 9:44 pm

November 13th, 2009 at 9:48 pm

Little run for Tulane, and at the 8 minute official timeout, Hoyas are only up 23-19. 6:19 to go in the half.

At the end of the half, Georgetown’s up by five, 32-27.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Hmmm…They still do ESPN gamebreaks on 980 on-line; even when the ball is in play. Not good, I will be following Game Tracker if this continues.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Decent first half. Let’s try and keep the turnovers down in the next 20 mins.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
Tulane cheerleaders are dancing to Thriller. And so is their weird mascot creature.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
Here’s a rundown of the Hoyas with fouls:
Freeman – 2
Clark – 1
Monroe – 1
Thompson – 1
Nikita – 1
Vaughn – 1
November 13th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
I see his name is Riptide. It’s some sort of bird – a pelican maybe – but it’s got green wavy feathers.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
alright hoyas, lets put these guys away, come out strong and no let up!!!
November 13th, 2009 at 10:28 pm

November 13th, 2009 at 10:32 pm

November 13th, 2009 at 10:33 pm
Monroe in the “Muscle Tussle”

November 13th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
muscle tussle, baby! muscle tussle!!!
November 13th, 2009 at 10:37 pm
Chvotkin quote after TECH for hanging on rim…”A little too much mistard on That hot dog”!
November 13th, 2009 at 10:37 pm
we are alittle off from the line, all our fts are getting some rim, someoe should check the hoops at mcdonough.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:37 pm
Technical foul on Asim McQueen for hanging on the rim after a dunk. I couldn’t come up with a good Bullitt joke though.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Horrible call by the officials. Clearly a block and Vaughan makes the basket, but they call the foul on the floor. Impossible.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
righthanded there for monroe, 12 points!! halfway there baby!
November 13th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
Freeman’s dunk pushes the lead to 14, and Tulane takes a timeout.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:40 pm

November 13th, 2009 at 10:41 pm
Let’s keep up this pace Hoyas!
November 13th, 2009 at 10:43 pm

gotta focus on fts boys
November 13th, 2009 at 10:45 pm
Another timeout for Tulane, the Hoyas starting to stretch out their lead, 53-38.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
I agree DJ…JT3 better have them practicing FT… we will need those in the Big East conference this year.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:47 pm
Big dunk by Henry Sims on a Hollis miss
November 13th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
Nice putback dunk from Sims. He came from the weakside and no one boxed him out.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:50 pm
Nice hustle defense. Wright came from the blindside to steal the ball away from Kevin Sims. I think the footsteps from Henry Sims helped distract Kevin so Chris could sneak in to take the ball away.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:51 pm
Seems like Monroe is more aggressive looking to score first, then pass
November 13th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
nice!!! pile it on hoyas!!
November 13th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
nice sims!

Official timeout – Hoyas up 61-43.
November 13th, 2009 at 10:58 pm

November 13th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
is this court smaller than regulation? thats like the 10th time someone has stepped on the line.
November 13th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
Foul on Chris Wright, his first.
November 13th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
Freeman hits another 3 and he has 16 points.
November 13th, 2009 at 11:02 pm
cant foul them on three pointers…
November 13th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
Monroe misses the front end of the 1-and-1, then Henry Sims gets called for an over-the-back foul, sending Tulane into the 1-and-1 on the other end.
November 13th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
come on henry, lets make these
November 13th, 2009 at 11:07 pm
need 6 more points, greg…..
November 13th, 2009 at 11:07 pm

November 13th, 2009 at 11:09 pm

November 13th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
noooo! now we have to take the 4 minute timeout!
November 13th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
Another ESPN 980 interruption – I’m outta here. Good night. Go Hoyas!
November 13th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
1:15 left, Hoyas up by 22, offical timeout.
November 13th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
Vee Sanford making his first appearance as a Hoya, and he only has a little over a minute to play in this one.
November 13th, 2009 at 11:15 pm

November 13th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
Nik… move your feet
November 13th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
Big win boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 13th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
And that’ll do it. The Hoyas win their first game of the year 74-58. A double-double for Greg, a career high for Jason, and a nice start to his junior season for Austin.
November 13th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
Great start to the season for Monroe and Freeman. Looking forward to Tuesday!
