The Georgetown Hoyas earned their second win of the young season against a top 15 opponent, winning a dramatic game at #12 Alabama in the Big East/SEC Challenge. With the Hoyas down 1, Hollis Thompson made a three-pointer with 1.8 seconds left to give Georgetown the 57-55 win.

Jason Clark led the Hoyas with a game-high 22 points, Henry Sims added 13 points, and Hollis Thompson finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds. It looked as though Georgetown would not need any last minute heroics as they led by 9 with just over two minutes to play. But a late 10-0 run from the Crimson Tide meant that the Hoyas would have to come back from behind on the final possession.

To try and slow down the athletic Alabama players, Georgetown played zone almost the entire first half and held a frustrated Alabam to only 16 points at the break.

In the second half, the Crimson Tide were able to get out in transition and quickly erase the Hoya lead. As the game slowed down down the stretch, Georgetown took control again before another surge put Alabama back in front, setting up the final possession for the Hoyas.

Georgetown will certainly be back in the top 25 after this performance, and their next game is back home on Saturday against NJIT. Tipoff is set for 1:00pm.
