For the second straight game, the Hoyas used an overpowering first half en route to a comfortable margin of victory, beating Savannah State 100-38. Georgetown led by 20 after 10 minutes and by 42 at halftime, 57-15. Nine different Hoyas scored before the break.
The Tigers were clearly overmatched and had no answers to stop Georgetown’s offense. All Hoyas ended up on the scoreboard with five in double figures, led by Jessie Sapp, Austin Freeman, and DaJuan Summers, each with 14.
The competition will get significantly tougher next game as the Hoyas host 17th-ranked Memphis on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
