The Hoyas returned to their winning ways, easily handling Appalachian State 89-60. Thirteen different Hoyas scored in the game, led by a game-high 15 points for Jason Clark. Donald Sims and Jeremi Booth each had 14 for the Mountaineers in the losing effort.
Georgetown started the game well, getting to the basket for easy points and opening up a 17 point lead midway through the first half. The Mountaineers cut the lead to nine at the break, trailing the Boys in Gray 41-32.
The Hoyas methodically extended their lead, relying more on backdoor cuts and penetration than three point shooting, with Chris Wright orchestrating, tying his career high in assists with 12.
Hoya fans also got their first look at Moses Ayegba who had to sit out the first nine games of the season due to a suspension. Ayegba scored four points in his two minutes of action.
Georgetown has the week off as students take exams. The Hoyas return to Verizon Center on Saturday for their final home non-conference game of the season, playing Loyola at 12 PM.
