The Georgetown Hoyas defeated Mount St. Mary’s by a final score of 69-58. It was a sluggish performance for the Hoyas who never seemed to get into a rhythm, either offensively or defensively. The game was a low scoring contest, as the teams were a combined 21-60 from field in the first half. Georgetown went into the locker room with a 33-24 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Hoyas started to pull away and lead by as many as 14 before a Mountaineers surge cut the lead to six with under five minutes to play. Georgetown, however, scored six of the next eight points to put the game out of reach.

Chris Wright led all scorers with 19 points, and DaJuan Summers added 13. Kelly Beidler led the Mountaineers with 16 points, all but one coming in the second half.

The Hoyas return to the floor this Tuesday, taking on Florida International at 7:30 PM at the Verizon Center.
