Georgetown came back from behind to beat the #9 Missouri Tigers in overtime last night, pushing their record to 7-0. But besides getting their first win against a ranked opponent, here are some other interesting facts that should cement the game into Hoya History.

Austin Freeman, Jason Clark, and Chris Wright all reached the 20 point mark. This is only the second time under John Thompson III's tenure that three players have scored 20 or more, the last being last year's Duke game when it was Austin, Chris, and Greg Monroe scoring 20. The time before that was a Mike Sweetney, Kevin Braswell, and Wesley Wilson showing against Howard in '01.

Austin Freeman scored 31 points after scoring 32 against UNC Asheville. Last year, we showed you a list of 30-point performances up through the Harvard game, and it looks like we'll have to update that list soon.

Under Coach Thompson, there have been five games where a player has gone for 30, and now Austin is responsible for three of them.

The last time a Hoya had back-to-back 30-point games was in February of 2003 when Mike Sweetney put up 38 in a double-overtime loss to Notre Dame and followed that up with 32 two days later against Syracuse.

If you're looking for the last time a Hoya put up 30 in back-to-back wins, you have to go all the way back to Allen Iverson's 37 against Villanova in the 1996 season finale and 38 against Miami in the Big East Tournament.

Chris Wright earned his second career double-double dishing out 10 assists to go with his 21 points. He earned his first in Charleston when he had a career-high 12 assists against Coastal Carolina. Chris is averaging over seven assists a game so far this season.

Jason Clark came up big in overtime scoring nine points on 3-3 from 3. That's the most points any Hoya has scored in overtime under Coach Thompson III's reign. The next best was DaJuan Summers with 8 against North Carolina in the East Regional Championship. Brandon Bowman also scored 8 in the overtime win against Norfolk State in Coach Thompson's first season.

The Hoyas went 18 for 18 from the free throw line on the night, which is the best in Georgetown's <del>recorded</del> history - at least according to our friends at The Georgetown Basketball History Project. They go back to 1978 with free throw percentage stats, and the best on that list was 12-12 against American in December of 78.

Edit: The Georgetown Media Guide confirms that 12-12 against American was the record.

The Hoyas scored 111 points, which is the most under JTIII. The next best offensive performance was 110 against Radford at McDonough, the last victory for Georgetown at the on-campus arena.

See the followup post for one more interesting stat from last night's game: More History Against Mizzou</a.

Yesterday, we got you updated with all the Hoyas on Twitter, and today, I’ll be giving you recent updates on Georgetown players in the NBA and beyond.

NBA Hoyas

Jeff Green (NBA Profile) is in his fourth season with the Oklahoma City Thunder (nee Seattle SuperSonics). So far this season, he’s averaging just shy of 20 points per game with over seven rebounds and a steal per game. He had to sit out the last game against the Celtics with a rolled ankle, and hopefully will return to action tomorrow against the 76ers. Sunday night marked the first game that Jeff has missed since sitting out four games in 2009 with back spasms.

Roy Hibbert (NBA Profile), in his third season with the Indiana Pacers, is coming into his own as a true NBA center. Starting the season off with a 28 point, 10 rebound performance against the San Antonio Spurs, he’s continued to shine averaging a double-double in the Pacers’ five opening games. It seems like his hard work is paying off, and he’s getting more attention as a result.

DaJuan Summers (NBA Profile) is in his second season with the Detroit Pistons, and as he did last year, he’s struggling to find playing time. He’s played in three of the Pistons’ seven games this season and has yet to make a lasting impact.

Greg Monroe (NBA Profile) is also with the Pistons, and like DaJuan he’s yet to find his role on the struggling Pistons. He’s been getting more playing time of late, getting action in Detroit’s last five games after sitting out the first two games credited to coach’s decision.

Europe and Beyond

Allen Iverson, after 14 seasons in the NBA, is taking his talents across the Atlantic Ocean to play with Beşiktaş Cola Turka in Istanbul. Just arriving in Turkey on Monday, he’s yet to play a game in Europe, but Allen has already seen the impact of his arrival as fans and media swarmed him at the airport yesterday, and he received a welcome ovation at a Beşiktaş soccer game last night.

Jessie Sapp, after spending a year in Scotland with the Glasgow Rocks, is now playing in Slovakia for Basketbal Pezinok.

Jonathan Wallace is playing basketball in Germany with FC Bayern Munchen. Over the weekend, he led Munich in scoring with 17 points in their win over ETB Wohnbau.

Brandon Bowman is currently playing professionally in Bulgaria for PBC Lukoil Academic. Former Marquette standout Dominic James is also playing in Sofia, who are currently 4-0 and sitting atop the Bulgarian National Basketball League standings.

Kevin Braswell is the only Hoya in Oceania, playing his second season with the New Zealand Breakers He had 14 points and five assists over the weekend against the Gold Coast Blaze.

Victor Samnick, another 2002 Hoya alum, is playing for Sluc Nancy Basket in France.

Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje is still playing in Germany, but he’s no longer with EWE Baskets Oldenburg. This season, he’s playing for the Artland Dragons from Quakenbruck.

Jameel Watkins may or may not play for a team called Hekmeh also known as Al-Hikma also known as Club Sagesse in Beirut, Lebanon. There really is very little information about the team of many names as they don’t have an active website.

Chris Wright scored 34 Points in Georgetown's recent win against Harvard. The performance earned him a spot on the Big East Weekly Honor Roll, and here are some interesting stats about the 30-point game:

Wright's point total was the highest scored by a player in a game under head coach John Thompson III.

It was only the second time since JTIII became the head coach that a player for the Hoyas has scored 30 or more - Jeff Green scored 30 points in the 2007 Big East Semifinal win over Notre Dame.

The 34-point performance is the highest by any Hoya since February 7, 2004 when Gerald Riley put up 37 at home against Miami.

Since 30-point games have been such a rare occurrence lately for the Hoyas, we thought it would be a nice time to look back at the most recent 30-point games. Instead of going back all the way back through the entire history of the Hoyas, we decided to begin with the 1994-95 season. That was the year that Allen Iverson was a freshman.

Nobody in the history of Georgetown Basketball has ever had more 30-point games. “The Answer” had thirteen 30+ performances as a Hoya, which means that Chris Wright only needs twelve more to tie him.

With NBA Training Camps starting up a few days ago, some Hoyas' names are popping up again. Mike Sweetney is still practicing with the Boston Celtics like he did during the Orlando Summer League, and while it doesn't look like he'll get a roster spot in Boston, he's still out there trying to prove that he belongs back in the League. You can read more here from the Boston Globe [via HoyaTalk]

Also making an appearance during NBA Training Camp is Brandon Bowman. After running-up in the German Bundesliga with Telekom Baskets Bonn, Brandon will be practicing with the Philadelphia 76ers this week.

And over in Europe, Jessie Sapp is getting comfortable in Glasgow. After three games, the Rocks are 1-2, but Jessie has done well for himself, leading the team in scoring twice with 26, and putting up 15 in their one win. So far, he's shooting 54% from the field and 47% from three to go along with his 8-9 (89%) from the stripe. After the team's first game, the Coach had some nice things to say about his rookie guard: Jessie Sapp has bright future with Glasgow Rocks.

At the beginning of last week, I mentioned that at least one Hoya would win a championship by the end of the month. And sure enough, Jonathan Wallace and Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje won the Basketball Bundesliga championship, edging out Brandon Bowman’s Telekom Baskets Bonn in the decisive Game 5.

Bowman and Bonni took the early lead in the series, beating Jon and Ruben’s EWE Baskets Oldenburg on the road 74-72. Brandon led all scorers with 26 to go with his 7 rebounds and 2 blocks.

In Game 2, Oldenburg regained home court advantage by winning at Bonn, but Game 3 was another road victory, and Bowman’s side took the series lead 2-1. But with elimination on the line, EWE Baskets Oldenburg stunned the home crowd by coasting to another road victory 82-66, forcing a decisive Game 5.

It looked as if the Championship series would end up with no team winning on their home court, as Telekom Baskets Bonn took an eight point lead into the 4th quarter. But Oldenburg clawed back in it, eventually taking the lead with under three minutes to play. After trading free throws, Bowman’s side went ahead thanks to four straight points from teammate Earl Rowland, and with 22 seconds left in the game, Brandon blocked a shot to give his team the ball, up by three.

Two missed free throws from Rowland, a three point play from Oldenburg’s Jason Gardner to tie the game, a pass into press row, and a free throw later, and the game was over – the home team had stolen the victory.

While Jon Wallace did not get into the Championship game, Ruben led Oldenburg with nine rebounds and two blocks. Brandon had 14 points in the losing effort.

Congratulations to the Bundesliga Champions!

Brandon Bowman’s Telekom Baskets Bonn took the early lead in the series, while EWE Baskets‘ Jonathan Wallace and Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje will have to make up some ground in Game 2 on Thursday.

No matter who wins, there will be at least one Hoya with a Championship to his name by the end of the month.

Not much news going on in Hoyaland right now, so this is what we've got for you.

Dikembe Mutombo logged the most minutes of the season on Friday when he played 35 minutes at Golden State. The Rockets won 113-109 and Deke had 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks.

In Germany, Jonathan Wallace and Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje's EWE Baskets Oldenburg beat Giants Düsseldorf 98-96 and Brandon Bowman's Telekom Baskets Bonn beat Giants Nördlingen 67-65. Our German's not too good, but it doesn't look like any of the Hoyas hit a last second shot.
