The Georgetown Hoyas remained perfect, defeating the Fairfield Stags 61-49 on Saturday afternoon at the Verizon Center. DaJuan Summers led the Hoyas in scoring with 16 points.
#2 UCLA (#1 in Coaches’ Poll) became the first top 5 team to lose this season, as they were defeated Sunday by #8 Texas 63-61 at Pauley Pavilion. Damion James and DJ Augustin each contributed 19 points to the Longhorns as they pulled off the upset. Junior forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute had a chance to win it for UCLA, but his three pointer at the buzzer rimmed out.
