- Allen Iverson had 30 points to go along with seven assists, but the Nuggets were unable to stop the Lakers, falling 128-114. Pau Gasol led all scorers with 36 points, and Kobe Bryant added 32 points, 28 in the second half, to push Los Angeles past the Nuggets. The next game in the seven game series is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:30 PM.
- The Houston Rockets continued their playoff woes, losing to Utah 93-82. Shane Battier led all scorers with 22 points, going 7-7 from the field. Tracy McGrady added 20 in a losing cause, but made only seven of 21 attempts. Game 2 is tonight at 9:30 PM
- In the 2008 Jordan Brand Classic, the Blue team representing the West came from behind to defeat the East coast White team 124-114. Greg Monroe was on the winning side, as was area high school coach Steve Turner from Gonzaga. Last year, current Hoyas Austin Freeman and Chris Wright participated in the all-star game.
