The Georgetown Hoyas dropped their third consecutive game, this time losing to previously winless Seton Hall 65-60. The game was close throughout, but in the final minutes, the Hoyas found themselves unable to come up with that decisive play to give them the victory. Austin Freeman and DaJuan Summers each missed an open three-pointer that would have given the Hoyas the lead, and Jessie Sapp airballed the potential game-tying three pointer with under ten seconds to play.

The Hoyas started out slowly, but eventually pulled out to a seven point lead before a poor close to the half left them with a 27-26 lead at the break. The Hoyas would again extend the lead to seven, but where unable to blow the game open, going over nine minutes without a field goal. Free throw shooting kept the Hoyas in the game, as they were 23-27, 85%, on the night, but Georgetown was again miserable from beyond the arc, making only three out of 22 attempts.

Jeremy Hazell led all scorers with 23 despite shooting only 5-21 from the field and Robert Mitchell added 20 points and seven rebounds for the Pirates. Greg Monroe scored 17 points in a losing effort for the Hoyas, while Jessie Sapp had eight points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

The Hoyas look to end their longest losing streak since February of 2006 this Wednesday against the Cincinnati Bearcats. That game is at 7:30 PM.
