After a 21 point victory over Villanova on Saturday, Georgetown closed out their home season with another shellacking, this time destroying Notre Dame 59-41. As Georgetown has done for most of the season, the Hoyas won by wearing out their opponents, growing the lead patiently and methodically, working hard on defense and executing offensively. The Fighting Irish looked out of sync for most of the game and lost for their second time in three days. The win improves Georgetown to 12-5 in conference play, tying them with Notre Dame in 3rd place.

The first half started with a few lead changes before Georgetown started to take control. The Hoyas took a 28-18 lead into halftime.

The lead continued to grow after the break with the result never in question. On Senior Day, Jason Clark scored 13 and Sims had 12, but Greg Whittington stole the show with a career-high 15 points including 9 on three pointers. Scott Martin and Eric Atkins each had 9 points for the Irish in the loss.

The Hoyas close out the Big East regular season on Saturday with a rematch against #8 Marquette.
