The Georgetown Hoyas improved to 2-0 this season with a convincing 74-52 victory over the University of Michigan (2-1). Georgetown scored the first 12 points of the game, and they never relinquished control. The Hoyas used a long range assault to overwhelm the young Wolverines who were playing their first road game of the season. Five different Hoyas made three-pointers in the first half, and Georgetown was 7 for 11 from long range at halftime.

In the second half, the game never got any closer than 21 points, which allowed Coach Thompson an opportunity to give his more inexperienced players extensive playing time. Six Hoyas scored eight points or more, led by Roy Hibbert and Jessie Sapp who each scored 12. After two home games at Verizon Center to start the season, Georgetown now has two consecutive road matches - Wednesday at Ball State at 7:00 pm, and the following Wednesday at Old Dominion at 7:00pm.
