The Georgetown Hoyas remained perfect on the season with an 83-62 win over Mount St. Mary’s. The game was reminiscent of the Hoyas’ previous outing against Lafayette, with both teams scoring early on and Georgetown pulling ahead before the break. Georgetown led 40-29 at the half.

The second half saw Georgetown stretch out to a 20 point lead, at which point it looked as though the Hoyas would run away with the game. But the Mount answered with a nine point run to keep the game close. In the end, however, the Hoyas took control and easily won the game.

Greg Monroe had his sixth career double-double and second of the season, scoring a game-high 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Chris Wright was also impressive with 18 points on 7-11 shooting, including 4-5 on three-pointers. Jean Cajou led Mount St. Mary’s with 16 points before fouling out with a minute left in the game.

Georgetown next takes on local rival American on Saturday at Verizon Center. for the second time season the Hoyas will have a tip-off at 4PM.
