Tony’s St. John’s Postgame Thoughts

Teams

Georgetown:
A win for the Hoyas was absolutely mandatory to keep themselves relevant for this season. They worked hard to open a slight cushion in the second half, but relaxed a little bit and paid for it. The team needs to develop a stronger ability to finish off games when possible. They did close out the game in the final minutes, but they could have finished it off about eight minutes earlier. Similar lapses will be costly against better teams than St. John’s.

St. John’s Postgame Press Conference

By Johnny

The Hoyas ended of 2009 on a positive note, notching home their first Big East victory of the season.

After the game, Coach, Chris, and Greg talked about the game and then JTIII had some nice things to say about Barker Davis’ last game covering the Hoyas for the Washington Times.

The Barometer is Steady

By Tony

A barometer is a tool used by meteorologists to help predict the weather. I don’t know exactly what is does, but occasionally it is falling, and at other times rising.

barometerIn sports, the term barometer is used to mean anything that can be used as an indicator to help predict things. I think that the only reason it makes sense to say that something else can be a barometer is because nobody really knows what a barometer is. Nobody would say that a team’s trends could be used like a thermometer, since we all know that a thermometer measures temperature. At any rate, I will continue the misuse of the term barometer.

Whenever Georgetown fans are unsure about how their team will fare during a season, there is one match-up that acts as a barometer for the Hoyas’ success – how they did against St. John’s.
