Connecticut Recap
By Hoya HoopsRoy Hibbert made a 3-pointer with 4.2 seconds remaining to break a tie and give the Hoyas a 72-69 win over the UCONN Huskies today at Verizon Center. Georgetown stays perfect in Big East play (3-0) and is now 13-1 on the season. The Hoyas trailed Connecticut by six points with under three and a half minutes to play, but closed the game on an 11-2 run, highlighted by 3-pointers from Austin Freeman, Jessie Sapp, and Hibbert.
Georgetown led by as many as nine points on two occasions in the first half, but Connecticut scored the final five points of the half to trail by only four at the intermission. In the second half Connecticut continued their run through good three point shooting and fast break opportunities and took the lead. Hibbert finished with a game-high 20 points, 12 of which came in the second half as the Hoyas stayed within striking distacne. Georgetown suffered a cold spell in which they didn’t score a field goal for four and a half minutes, but managed to keep the game within reach before their final run.
Georgetown goes back on the road to take on Pittsburgh on Monday at 7 PM, before returning to Verizon Center for two games in a row.

I always know Roy could shoot, but geez in the clutch like that!?!?! Thank goodness he came back for another season!
