Louisville In-Game Thread
By JohnnyJohnny here. There’s still over a half hour before the big matchup between Georgetown and Louisville, but they have been talking about this game all day on ESPN, and fans have been at Freedom Hall for College GameDay since early this afternoon.
It’s gonna be a battle of defenses as these two teams keep their opponents to under 60 points a game. We’ll have to see how the Hoyas’ offense will fare against one of the best D’s of the Big East.
I’ll keep you informed throughout the game; keep your thoughts coming in the comments.

Big game today. A win would be really nice before facing Villanova at home.
February 9th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
I can’t wait for this game to start. Why does it have to be so late at night?
February 9th, 2008 at 8:45 pm

February 9th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
All the fans in Louisville are wearing their white T-shirts and jerseys, as they are trying to “White Out” Freedom Hall. Even Rick Pitino is wearing all white with a bright white suit on.
Maybe the Hoyas can “Shut Up” Freedom Hall with a big run early to start the game.
February 9th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
Maybe he’s Mr. Rourke, and winning this game is his FANTASY
February 9th, 2008 at 9:01 pm

Foul on Rivers, team foul number four, his first.
February 9th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Louisville’s been applying very light full court pressure, and it hasn’t bothered the Hoyas too much. They only have too turnovers, and not due to the press.
February 9th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Nice play Rivers. Good hustle.

February 9th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Looked like a bailout foul to me. But maybe that’s just because I like River’s D so much

After a nice block by Hibbert on Caracter, Freeman gets a breakout layup as time expires. Hoyas leading 31-23 at the half.
February 9th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
No free throws for the Hoyas? Ridiculous!
February 9th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
No free throws, and for a while, every foul on Georgetown was a shooting foul for the Cardinals. They’re 7-9.
February 9th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
Hibbert starts the scoring in the second half, he’s got 10.

February 9th, 2008 at 10:40 pm

February 9th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
Hoyas have failed to do much on offense in the second half. 10 points with 16 minutes gone in the 2nd.

February 9th, 2008 at 10:45 pm

February 9th, 2008 at 10:53 pm

February 9th, 2008 at 10:55 pm
Looks like that will do it. Hoyas just struggled on offense in the second half, plain and simple.
February 9th, 2008 at 10:59 pm
There’s the final. 59-51 Louisville. Hopefully the Hoyas can right the ship before Monday night.
