Louisville In-Game Thread

By Johnny

Johnny here. There’s still over a half hour before the big matchup between Georgetown and Louisville, but they have been talking about this game all day on ESPN, and fans have been at Freedom Hall for College GameDay since early this afternoon.

It’s gonna be a battle of defenses as these two teams keep their opponents to under 60 points a game. We’ll have to see how the Hoyas’ offense will fare against one of the best D’s of the Big East.

I’ll keep you informed throughout the game; keep your thoughts coming in the comments.

I can’t wait for this game to start. Why does it have to be so late at night?

  3. DJ Says:

nerves, man, big game, lets get it started

  4. Johnny Says:

All the fans in Louisville are wearing their white T-shirts and jerseys, as they are trying to “White Out” Freedom Hall. Even Rick Pitino is wearing all white with a bright white suit on.

Maybe the Hoyas can “Shut Up” Freedom Hall with a big run early to start the game.

  5. Meg Says:

Maybe he’s Mr. Rourke, and winning this game is his FANTASY

  6. DJ Says:

  22. Mike Says:

Foul on Rivers, team foul number four, his first.

  23. Johnny Says:

Louisville’s been applying very light full court pressure, and it hasn’t bothered the Hoyas too much. They only have too turnovers, and not due to the press.

  24. Emily Says:

    Nice play Rivers. Good hustle.

  25. Sam Says:

jeez, threes are not going down so far, need to fix that

Second foul on Rivers puts Louisville on the line shooting two on the other side of the four minute timeout, the Hoyas up eight.

  32. Hoya Gray Says:

Looked like a bailout foul to me. But maybe that’s just because I like River’s D so much

  33. Emily Says:

They’re pushing him out of bounds!

  34. Sam Says:

  42. Johnny Says:

No free throws, and for a while, every foul on Georgetown was a shooting foul for the Cardinals. They’re 7-9.

Rick Pitino has changed out of the white suit into a normal dark colored suit.

Second foul on Wallace in 30 seconds, team’s third

  50. Emily Says:

    That’s ridiculous! Clear jump ball

  51. Mike Says:

Short runner by Freeman to push lead back to four, Hoyas use a thirty that extends to full.

  52. Johnny Says:

Paul, there are the Hoyas’ first free throws.

  53. Sam Says:

    big trouble for us now

  54. DJ Says:

come on hoyas, head up, relax and run the offense

  55. DJ Says:

  61. Sam Says:

    big big big trouble now

  62. Johnny Says:

Hoyas have failed to do much on offense in the second half. 10 points with 16 minutes gone in the 2nd.

  63. DJ Says:

    clutchness

  64. Emily Says:

No contact? When was the last foul on Louisville?

  65. Sam Says:

    its over now

  66. DJ Says:

nice, but still need some help here

  67. DJ Says:

    oooh, that hurts

  68. Johnny Says:

Looks like that will do it. Hoyas just struggled on offense in the second half, plain and simple.

  69. Johnny Says:

There’s the final. 59-51 Louisville. Hopefully the Hoyas can right the ship before Monday night.
