Favorite Announcers

Who is your favorite announcer and why?
We will say Doris Burke for all the reasons Tony mentioned but will add one more: It is good to have an announcer from a Big East school other than Syracuse. Who is your favorite? Let us know in the comments.

Jay Bilas has been good to the Hoyas lately and he usually makes good observations without unnecessary gesticulations.

ManToMan…Send it in, Big Fella!…Onions, on Broadway!…A little lengerie, lingering…McCrory’s…Some Yolk on the brow… All quotes from one of the World’s Best- Bill Raftery. He may look like a cross between Mr. Rogers and Phil Donahue, but he’s a joy to listen to every time. Plus, he loves drinking at the Tombs.

I’ll have to go agree with Zo and go with Raftery. Bilas was up there until the Hoyas vs Nova game and he sat there like a baby after what happened and started putting down the Hoyas and the refs. The foul was called … just announce the game.
