Davidson Recap
By Hoya HoopsThe Georgetown Hoyas squandered a 17 point second half lead as the #10 seed Davidson came from behind to end the season for the #2 seeded Hoyas. Stephen Curry had 25 in the second half to lead a furious comeback for the Wildcats, who advance to the Sweet 16.
Roy Hibbert was saddled with foul trouble throughout, playing only nine minutes in the first half and picking up two questionable offensive fouls in the second half. The Georgetown offense cooled off, but the defense was whistled for 14 fouls in the second half, and Davidson took advantage, making 15 out of 18. Jessie Sapp led the Hoyas with 14 points, 12 coming from downtown, but it wasn’t enough to keep Georgetown from falling for the second time in three games.
In the final game of their careers, Hibbert was 3-3 from the field with six points in 16 minutes, Jonathan Wallace scored 12 points on 5-8 shooting, Patrick Ewing Jr. had two points and a block, and Tyler Crawford had a rebound in six minutes of action.
