Election Day
By Hoya HoopsToday is the day. The day of the biggest election of our lifetime according to many political historians. We at Hoya Hoops try to leave the political analysis to experts like Mark Shields, whom you can find on PBS’s News Hour and also at the Verizon Center quite often supporting the Hoyas.
So even though we won’t technically announce who we support, we feel like it should be pretty easy to read between the lines. For example, if it comes down to supporting a tall black man who is considered to be the rising star of his profession, or a short, balding, white guy who has been doing the same job for 30 years and often comes across as whiny and annoying, who do you think Hoya Hoops would support?

I’m now going to unsubscribe from your RSS feed. I come here for conversation on my alma mater’s basketball team, not political nonsense.

Well, we’re sorry to see you go. We definitely agree with you – it is nonsense. Just trying to be a little silly on a day that comes once every four years. I personally am a big fan of nonsense.

It is silly…but at the same time, kind of annoying. It can be hard to be a conservative at a major university, but even conservatives can feel like part of the majority when it comes to supporting the basketball team. You’ve just made us outsiders. I’ll still come back and all (just like I won’t actually move to Canada if BO beats JM), but once in awhile it’s nice to have a break from having to be on the defensive (and having to talk about the election–it’s officially gone on too long)
