- The Hoyas won their final out-of-conference game this past week, soundly beating #16 Memphis 86-69. The win puts the Hoyas at 11-1 heading into Big East play this Wednesday at Notre Dame.
- There were no upsets of any of the teams in the Top 10 teams in the rankings, with Georgetown and Missouri the only top ten teams to play a ranked opponent. Missouri beat #21 Illinois 75-64.
- The Hoyas in the NBA went 1-2 over the Christmas weekend, with Jeff Green the only Hoya victorious. The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated Denver on Christmas 114-106, with Jeff getting 12 points and six assists. Both the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons lost their games on Boxing Day, falling to Memphis and Chicago, respectively.
- In Turkey, Allen Iverson returned to the court after missing two weeks to lead Bestikas to a 24 point win over Pinar Karsiyaka, 89-65. Iverson had 20 points on 5-11 shooting in the game.
