St. John’s In-Game Thread
By JohnnyHey everyone, Johnny here, sitting on the baseline at the new Madison Square Garden as the Hoyas are set to face off against the St. John’s Red Storm in a little under half an hour.
Both sides are coming off of two consecutive losses, with Georgetown falling to West Virginia on the road and Cincinnati at home, and St. John’s losing at Cincinnati and Marquette. Both teams are looking to end that streak with a victory this afternoon, so expect a highly contested Big East matchup.
The teams are shooting around right now with the Hoyas in their blue hoodie warmups, and the Red Storm in their standard red and white.
I don’t have starting lineups or referee info. I recognize John Cahill and Mike Stephens, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen that third ref before.
I’ll be filling you in with that and any other information I get as the game goes on, so keep it here or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.

Hoyas come out for some more warmups to a few boos. MSG is pretty empty still.

That third ref’s name is Michael Nance if you were wondering at home

January 15th, 2012 at 12:23 pm
I like how they run the stats to press row at every timeout here at MSG. I don’t like that the Hoyas were shooting 16.7% before Clark’s three.
January 15th, 2012 at 12:26 pm
Sims has scored 5 straight points to tie the game
January 15th, 2012 at 12:26 pm

0 points in the first half, but Hollis starts the 2nd half scoring for the Hoyas with a three
January 15th, 2012 at 1:13 pm
Hollis scores five more in a hurry, he has eight 2nd half points, Hoyas lead by ten, STJ takes a timeout.

Rebound tipped out of bounds. It’ll still be St. John’s ball after the 16:00 timeout. Hoyas lead 35-25
January 15th, 2012 at 1:31 pm
After crazy scrambling with players flying out of bounds, a kick on the Hoyas with 1 second left resets the shot clock.
