Georgetown (#13) | 35 | 32 | 67 |
DePaul | 25 | 25 | 50 |
The Georgetown Hoyas won their second straight conference game, defeating DePaul 67-50 to improve to 11-1 on the season and 2-0 in Big East play.
The Hoyas asserted themselves early, jumping out to a 9-2 lead. The Blue Demons responded with a 7-0 run to tie the score, but the Hoyas would lead the rest of the way. Greg Monroe scored nine first half points to help his side take a 35-25 lead into the half.
Georgetown coasted through the second half as the Blue Demons never really threatened the Hoyas’ lead. Georgetown used their trademark defense to keep the game out of reach, holding DePaul to under 40% shooting on the day.
Chris Wright led all scorers with 18 points, and Austin Freeman contributed 17 of his own, going 3-5 from beyond the arc. Mac Koshwal had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Blue Demons in a losing effort.
The Hoyas next travel to Milwaukee to take on Marquette Wednesday night at 8 PM. That game will be televised on MASN.
