The Georgetown Hoyas snapped their five game losing streak with a 57-47 win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Georgetown was led by senior Jessie Sapp’s 11 points, while Greg Monroe filled the stat sheet with 10 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals.
It was a low scoring first half in which both teams were careless with the ball. The teams combined for 16 field goals and 17 turnovers before the break. The Hoyas led by nine at halftime and eventually streched the lead to as many as 20, before Rutgers started to chip away. The Scarlet Knights made it a nine point game late, but the result was never truly in question.
The Hoyas look to build off this win on Saturday aginst Cincinnati. That game tips off at Verizon Center at 12:00 PM.
