Coach John Thompson III has still never won at the Carrier Dome, losing to the Syracuse Orange 77-70. A very sloppy first half doomed the Hoyas as they committed 12 turnovers and failed to get back in transition, as Syracuse ran off a 26-4 run. Syracuse built a 21 point lead before the Hoyas mounted their comeback. Georgetown got it as close as five, but the deficit proved to be too great.

Paul Harris had 22 points and Donte Greene added 18 points but was only 7-22 from the field. Jonathan Wallace led all scorers with 26 points, and shot 6-7 from beyond the arc.

Georgetown stays on the road, going to Providence to take on the Friars with a rare 4:00 PM start time.
