Jeff Green Has Heart Disease, Will Miss 2012 Season

By Hoya Hoops
  • On Saturday, it was announced that former Georgetown star Jeff Green would undergo surgery and miss the entire 2011-12 NBA season. Despite the life-threatening disease, he is expected to return from the surgery and be able to play again.
  • The Georgetown Hoyas moved to 9-1 on the season with an 81-55 win over the American Eagles Saturday afternoon. Strong performances from Henry Sims and Markel Starks led the Hoyas to victory over the cross-town rivals.
  • #8 Xavier was the lone team in the Top Ten to lose this week, falling to Oral Roberts 64-42 on Sunday.

We are past the point of moral victories. We should be in the Elite Eight.”
