Georgetown began Big East conference play with a win, defeating the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 58-46. Austin Freeman scored a game-high 13 points to lead four scorers in double figures.

The Hoyas were ahead by seven at halftime and opened a 17 point lead early in the second half. Five different Hoyas made two three-pointers, and the team finished 48% from beyond the arc. Coach Thompson improved to 4-0 in conference openers.

The Hoyas next game is Tuesday night against DePaul in Chicago. Tip-off is at 9:00 PM.
