Margin of Victory
By Hoya HoopsThe Georgetown Hoyas traveled to Anaheim, California last weekend and got a big win over the Washington Huskies. In that game, we wanted you to tell us how many turnovers the Hoyas would commit. In the end, the Hoyas had 17 miscues, which is still a fair amount, but is down from the 21 they committed in the team’s win over Butler, and far fewer than the 25 turnovers they forced the Huskies into. Let’s Go Hoyas guessed 17, so he was exactly correct. Nice work from the Pregame Predictions reigning champion.
After a week off, the Hoyas now return to the hardwood to take on Old Dominion at McDonough Gymnasium. The last time these two teams met there, the Monarchs came away with a 75-62 victory, handing the Hoyas their first defeat at the on-campus arena in 24 years. The Hoyas already avenged that defeat the following year, but there is still some lingering animosity towards ODU since they broke Georgetown’s 23-game win streak at McDonough.
A disturbing trend for Georgetown this year has been closing out games. The Hoyas took commanding leads in both of their games last week, only to let their opponents creep back, creating tense final moments, and while neither game was ever a one possession game, it made the final scores much closer than they should have been. For this week’s Pregame Predictions, we wonder if that trend will continue:
Will the Hoyas win, and what will the final margin be?
We think Georgetown will be able to get the win and hold onto the lead, with the Hoyas winning by 16 when all is said and done.

The Hoyas will win. My guess is by 14 pts. I still think they’ll let their lead slide in the final minutes of the game…but I think it will be more b/c the reserves will see more playing time in this game. Go Hoyas!! 9-0

The Hoyas will light it up tonight in their real home court. The snow will melt on the hilltop. HOYAS BY 23,on our way to a minimum 13-0 start.
