Louisville | 23 | 36 | 59 |
The Georgetown Hoyas managed only 20 points in the second half and fell on the road to the Louisville Cardinals 59-51. Georgetown led by eight at the break but couldn’t find the range in the second half, shooting only 35% from the field.
The Hoyas dropped their third game of the season, and similar to the other two losses, Georgetown was ice cold from long range, making only 4 of 22. Meanwhile, the Cardinals pulled away in the second half with good offensive execution, starting the half 7-10, and shooting 46% on the night. Austin Freeman and Roy Hibbert led the Hoyas with 14 points a piece, and David Padgett led all scorers with 18.
The Hoyas now face an extremely quick turnaround, as they take on the Villanova Wildcats less than 46 hours after the end of this game. That game is scheduled for 7:00 PM at Verizon Center.
